Go to the "Customize" menu option and select "Create a New List of Vacations".
The small "New Vacation List" window will appear. Type the name of your new calendar into the blank provided and then click the "OK" button.
Once you create a new vacation list the will appear.
The "Edit Vacation List" lets you customize which days are counted as business days. For example, generally, all weekends should be excluded from a count of business days, these exclusions are what we call Vacation days.
Click the "New" button in the "Edit Vacation List" window and the "Vacation Settings" Window will appear. Type the name of the day or days you wish to exclude. For example, type, "weekend." Select the first instance which occurs in the year in the "start date" calendar pulldown menu in the bottom left quarter of the window. Next, click the button marked "Repeat: None" to the right of the "start date" and the "Change Repeat" dialog will appear.
With the "Change Repeat" dialog you can set your vacation day to repeat however you want it to. For example.
If we want a "Vacation" day to repeat every week on Tuesday we would set the repeat dialog like below. In our example this day will always repeat since we have the "No End" selected. If your "Vacation" day needs to end on a certain date just de-select it and pick the date with the date box to the left of it.
You can confirm that the "Vacation" day is set to repeat how you want it to by the window at the bottom of the dialog.
A holiday, say Veterans Day for example, would be set to repeat every year on Nov. 11th. So in this example you would select year instead of week, and select "No End" again so the day will repeat forever. And again confirm that the repeat is set correctly by looking at the window on the bottom of the dialog. |
